Braces Consultation

What happens during a braces consultation?

During your consultation, your teeth, jaws and bite pattern will all be reviewed to determine what type of treatment is best for your needs and also to decide if other treatments may also be needed, including extractions to help “make room” for teeth that are very crowded. You'll also learn about the course of your treatment and what to expect, including how long you'll need to wear braces, how often you'll need to visit the office, how to care for braces and how your braces will feel. The consultation is also the ideal time to ask questions about orthodontic treatment and any other concerns you may have about your care.

Can anyone have Invisalign®?

While Invisalign® is a great choice for many people, there are some times when traditional braces are a better option, including patients with severe misalignments and other issues that just don't respond well to Invisalign® treatment. During the consultation, you'll learn whether Invisalign® is a good choice for your needs or if traditional braces are the better path to a great-looking smile.

Can't I just have veneers?

Veneers can be used in some cases to make teeth appear straighter and better aligned, but they're designed for cosmetic results only and do not address the underlying issues like overcrowding and crookedness that can lead to other issues, like bite problems, tempomandibular joint disorder or increased risk of decay and tooth loss. Veneers are better left for minor cosmetic alterations, while braces help move your your teeth into ideal alignment for better oral health overall.

Are braces covered by insurance?

Some dental insurance plans offer partial coverage for orthodontic treatment, but other offer no coverage at all. Our office staff can contact your plan provider to determine your coverage limits and then work with you to find a financing solution that will help make your treatment affordable.
